Why Professional Photography is Important On Your Dental Website?

Professional Photography for your dental websiteIf you aren’t including professional photography on your dental website, you may not be getting the most out of it! Adding 3 specific types of images to your dental website can help your patients bond with you before even stepping into your dental office. These photos are an easy way to give your office an edge over dental offices that aren’t utilizing images.

Below is a list of the four different types of images that you should be including on your website, as well as the best way to present them:

  1. Doctor Photos
The number one type of image potential patients look for are images of the doctor and his or her family. Patients want to feel connected to you as they research the various dental office options they have in their area. Can they connect with you through visual representation? If so, then you are on the right track in converting new patients. These images should be professional grade to help facilitate a professional and charming environment. Additionally, images with you and your family, if you have one, help connect patients who have families.

  2. “About The Staff” Photos
Studies have shown that the very first page patients will typically click on is the “About Us” page. By adding pictures to this very important page, your potential patients are not only reading about you but getting to see your face and the faces of your employees as well, making them feel bonded with you. Consider hiring a professional photographer to take staff pictures so they look uniform and professional, but don’t be afraid to show off the personality of your staff as well! By including fun pictures and facts, you and your staff will seem more friendly and approachable. The pictures and descriptions on your “About Us” page will serve as the first impression to many potential patients so make sure these important aspects are done correctly!

  3. “Office Gallery” Photos
Providing pictures of your office can provide your potential patients with a way of experiencing your office before they even visit. This should include outside shots, pictures of the reception area and waiting room, and photos of what your exam rooms look like. In addition, if you provide any special amenities such as drink stations, vending machines, or play areas for children, include pictures of these places as well.

Make sure your office photos are taken during the day when the office is bright and sunny. You can feature happy staff and even patients (as long as they consent)! The purpose of these photos is to make your office look friendly and inviting. Unprofessional images may do just the opposite and present your dental office in a drab and frightening experience. Consider hiring a professional photographer to take these shots, just to make sure they’re done perfectly!

  4. “Before & After” Photos
Before & After shots can be the final push for a patient who may be hesitant to contact your office. It can provide them with a visual of what their own results could be like, instead of just reading about the description of the procedures you provide.

These pictures are an opportunity for you to show off your skills, making them very important to get just right. Don’t include any shots of tools being used on patients’ teeth, as this can make the viewer feel nervous or uncomfortable. Just simple close-ups, preferably of smiles, of the before and after shots of some of your best work.
